This is a lightweight timeline intended to help readers orient themselves. It will be expanded with more primary sources over time.

Early era (high-level)

  • Jan–Feb 2014 — ReddCoin introduced and launched (early PoW/PoS-era altcoin wave).
  • Aug 2014 (approx.) — Mining era winds down; ReddCoin operates under Proof-of-Stake Velocity (PoSV).

Some early-era dates still need primary citations in this wiki (coingecko / historical announcements / repo tags).

PoSV v2 / Enhanced Staking era (design milestone)

  • Summer 2019 — Updated ReddPaper / Roadmap describing PoSV v2 and Enhanced Staking released (see ReddPaper/ReddBook sources).

Recent operational milestones (from Telegram support)

  • 2024-01-19 — Core v4.22.8 release announced in Telegram (included a fix for stalling downloads).1
  • 2024-08-17 — Advisory: legacy nodes/services urged to upgrade due to chain split risk across mixed versions.2
  • 2024-09-14 — Admin published hash-check procedure for two known “bad forks” (heights + hashes + invalidate commands).3
  • 2025-12-15 — Dev update: v4.22.10 in progress (SegWit/CSV/Taproot roadmap; testing focus).4
  • 2026-02-13 — Admin reiterated canonical hash check at height 5,519,068.5
